September 16th, 2007 - Skeletons in the Closet
The colder weather often brings out this need to organize in me. I am generally a pretty organized person on a regular day, but bring on a cold day and some other stresses I have been under and something is bound to get pulled apart. Last week, the linen closet.
As you can see, it is not that it was really that messy before, it was definitely lacking the detailed touch. After seeing the latest Style and Home magazine, it inspired this:
Much prettier eh? I picked up a couple of boxes for storage, and stored some towels we were not currently using elsewhere. Now T has his shelf (the dark towels) and I have mine (all white). It was a very satisfying job and I keep opening the closet to have a look. Me thinks that might make me just a little odd.....
September 6th, 2007 - No Longer Just My Intention
Well folks, many moons after she was begun, Gathering Intentions is finally, FINALLY, finished.
It took a long time, we had a couple of disagreements, but I think maybe this little detail makes it worth it:
This knit was done with Elann Peruvian Highland Wool, out of the stash no less. Although it took almost a year and a half (more?) I did enjoy it. I am also really glad it is finished.
It is a well written pattern, although I have realized something about my sizing. I have wide shoulders and a small waste. Quite often when I finish a sweater I feel like the neck opening is too big and it stretches out the collar. I think this is actually because my shoulders are stretching things out. So in the future (lesson learned!) I will accommodate for this.
Now, if only we weren't having an end of summer heat wave I could actually stand to put it on!
