So a while back I saw the adorable kits that Alicia Paulson was putting together for her Maggie Rabbit design. I sort of hummed and hawed about whether I wanted a kit or not, and of course they sold out in about 2.8 seconds. (ETA: I just noticed she has kits back in stock. Run! Go get one!) So when I did finally decide that I wanted to make one, I figured that I would just buy the pdf of the pattern and get the supplies from etsy.
My supplies and pattern sat around for a while in my To Be Done pile for quite some time, but I finally got around to working on it a couple of weeks ago. And I am so excited with how she came out!
Each piece of the rabbit is all hand stitched with embroidery floss, right down to her boots. I bought the felt from Amy at A Market Collection and then used a vintage fabric that I bought in San Francisco about a year ago for the dress.
The ears are scraps of vintage sheets, leftover from a quilt project I am working on. But by far my favourite part….the BOOTS!
Teeny tiny hand stitched boots with laces. Laces! They are totally why I bought the pattern.
I have a second rabbit all cut out and ready to be stitched, but I think I will make this one a boy rabbit. Maybe with some overalls. And checkered shirt. Gah!
