A Group Goodbye

A few weeks ago our friend Jenn moved from her wee farm in Rocky Mount up to the Pittsburgh area. It is a fantastic opportunity for her family, but we are all going to miss her terribly. So, we wanted to do something as a group to warm her new home and let her know that we are thinking of her. And what better way to warm then a quilt?

It a long lap sized quilt, perfect for chilly PA winters.

Natasha and Jolaine made the corners as well as the blue 9-patch squares. Laura made the lighter coloured pinwheels.

I made the two star blocks, and Whitney made the darker pinwheels and the completely awesome sheep.

I put all the blocks together with their sashing, and quilted it on Laura’s machine.

Free swirls, one of my favourite patterns.

The backing is a nice dark blue, for durability sake (Jenn has two little ones as well as two dogs).

I did the binding in red and packed it up for it’s trip to PA, where it is happily keeping both Jenn and her hubby warm in the evenings. We wish you all the best Jenn, and we can’t wait until you are down for your first visit!

Rocky Mount, NC or VA??? Both are my old stomping grounds and it does me good to just hear them mentioned. The quilt is a wonderful gift! I, too, love the sheep. Also, really like that quilting pattern with all the swirls. Great and thoughtful gift!
