    Frostweed Mitts

    A little while ago Julie put the word out on IG that she needed a couple of pattern testers. I needed something quick and easy to help me swing back into my knitting mojo, so I emailed and asked if I could participate! These were so much fun to knit, because it was a simple pattern with great details. For me, that is the best kind – something I don’t have to pay a lot of attention to, but when it is finished, it looks like I spent more time on them than I did.     Finished Monkey Socks

    I generally have a sock project on the go at all times. They are great when I am working at shows to just get a couple rows in here and there. These ones I started in September, and just finished up now. Hot off the needles! I did a picot hem bind off, just to give them a bit more interest. It flops over a bit, but I don’t think it will affect the wearing of them. I have never made myself a patterned pair of socks (even though I think this is about the 6th pair of Monkeys I have knit).     Better Late Than Never?

    At the beginning of December good friends of ours welcomed their second baby girl to the family. With the total insanity that was my “4th Quarter” (look at me using the business lingo….) my personal work and gifts really suffered. (As a side note, I plan on doing all of my Christmas stuff in August this year and not committing to getting anything other than work done from Oct-Dec. That should work, right?) So sadly I didn’t get their gift finished until the middle of January. Luckily they are lovely people and were very understanding.
