    Card Catch Up

    It’s funny – there are times when I am concentrating on one craft at a time, and that of course is reflected in my blog posts with finished projects that seem to group together in craft categories. The one thing though that is always in between even the clusters of particular craft projects is cards. Cards always need to be made on a timeline, so they don’t wait for you to finish up that test knit you are working on or the quilt that needs to get done for a gift.     Crocheting Fiend

    Nope, not me. My Mom. A while back my Mom mention that she needed a new crochet project. She is a speed demon with that hook let me tell you. So I suggested that she crochet a sweater for me! I am so selfless, yes? The pattern is C3 Crochet Crop Cardigan, but I asked Mom to make some modifications. The sleeves are just a cap sleeve and the length is quite a bit longer. It is done in Rowan Calmer (yum!) and it took 8 complete balls. I added the little toggles instead of doing a regular button, which I though set off the asymmetrical yoke. I like the…

    Soft AND Stripey

    A while back we ordered some new yarn from Cascade at the shop – Eco Alpaca. Normally I am not able to knit with alpaca as it makes my hands kinda puffy. But we needed a shop sample so I thought I would try it out. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this wasn’t too bad on my hands at all. I am starting to wonder if it is the dyes that are used in some alpaca yarns, because this yarn is all natural. It is just a blend of natural colours in a stripey transition.
